Essential Supplies for Autoclave Operations
Keep Your Autoclave Process Ready and Verifiable
San-I-Pak consumables support routine waste containment, autoclave processing, and biological monitoring. Select compatible bags, liners, indicators, and incubation equipment for your facility’s treatment workflow.
The range includes autoclave bags and liners for waste containment, along with biological indicators and the Smart-Read Incubator for monitoring sterilization-cycle performance.
Together, these products support waste preparation, processing, and verification as part of the facility’s established operating procedures. The consumables collection includes bags, liners, the Smart-Read Incubator, and BI indicators.
Support From Waste Collection Through Cycle Verification
San-I-Pak consumables serve two important parts of the autoclave workflow:
Waste containment
Autoclave bags and liners help contain waste during collection, movement, and treatment.
Process monitoring
Biological indicators and the Smart-Read Incubator help facilities monitor whether the required sterilization conditions were achieved.
Consumables should be selected and used according to the facility’s validated cycles, operating procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
San-I-Pak autoclave bags and liners are intended to support waste containment throughout the collection and treatment process.
Available options help facilities:
- Contain waste inside compatible carts or containers
- Support movement from the point of collection to the autoclave
- Maintain an organized waste-handling workflow
- Select bags or liners suited to the applicable waste stream
- Prepare loads for processing under the facility’s established procedures
The correct product should be selected according to the cart or container being used, the type of waste, and the validated autoclave process.
The Smart-Read Incubator provides a dedicated system for incubating and reading compatible biological indicators used in autoclave-cycle monitoring.
It helps facilities maintain a more organized verification workflow by providing a consistent location for processing indicators after the sterilization cycle.
The incubator should be operated with compatible indicators and according to the product instructions and the facility’s quality-control procedures.
Biological indicators, or BIs, are used to monitor the effectiveness of sterilization cycles by challenging the process with highly resistant microorganisms.
After exposure to the autoclave cycle, the indicator is incubated and evaluated for evidence of microbial growth. The result provides biological evidence that the required sterilization conditions were achieved at the indicator’s position within the load.
BI monitoring should be performed according to the facility’s validated procedures, required testing frequency, and applicable standards.
A Complete Monitoring Workflow
01. Prepare the Load
Place waste into the appropriate autoclave bags or cart liners according to facility procedures.
02. Position the Indicator
Place a compatible biological indicator in the defined test location within the load.
03. Run the Cycle
Process the load using the facility’s validated autoclave cycle.
04. Incubate the BI
Transfer the exposed indicator to the Smart-Read Incubator along with the required control indicator.
05. Review and Document
Interpret and record the result according to the indicator instructions and the facility’s documentation process.
